Pizza Corner to bring in ice creams by Oct

Rs 50 Lakh To Be Invested On Cream & Fudge Factory

GENEVA - based Global Franchise Architects (GFA), promoters of Pizza Corner and Coffee World outlets, is planning to introduce a third chain, Cream and Fudge Factory, by October this year. The new outlet will server premium ice creams. It is also planning to invest Rs 50 lakh for manufacturing these ice creams in the country. GFA's global portfolio consists of Pizza Corner, Coffee world and New York Deli (serves soups, salads and sandwiches) in addition to Cream and Fudge Factory.

"The new ice cream outlets will be run by franchisees. We are in talks with a few people who have expressed interest in opening Cream and Fudge Factory outlets in Bangalore and Chennai," said Mr. Anoop Sequeira, chief executive officer of GFA. Talking to ET, on the sidelines of a press meet on Thursday, he said the company was looking at introducing all its brands in India. The company is also expanding ITS base kitchen facility in Bangalore to cater to the production of its existing brands - Pizza Corner and Coffee world as well as Cream and Fudge Factory

It has earmarked Rs 75 lakh for the expansion, of which Rs 50 lakh will be used for ice cream manufacturing. According to Mr.Sequeira, the company is looking at introducing some new ice cream flovours specifically for the Indian market. Also on the cards is the expansion of Pizza Corner and Coffee World, The company will be spending Rs 3 crore for promoting is new 'Conizza'. While launching the new pizza in Hyderabad, Mr. Sequeira said the company would launch a TV commercial for the 'Conizza' on May 25, "The commercial is directed by Rajkumar Hirani (of Munnabbai MBBS fame) and the entire money is earmarked for the two month long campaign," he said

Pizza Corner has 47 outlets in India, Plans are to add six more by mid-June. The company is scouting for a place in Hyderabad for opening a Coffee World outlet, "At persent, we have six Coffee World outlets and by June we will open another outlet in Tamil Nadu," Mr. Sequeira added.
