Pizza Corner to increase its outlets

Hyderabad, June 10:Global Franchise Architects, which owns the Pizza Corner and Coffee World restaurant chains, will be nearly doubling the number of Pizza Corner outlets in the country from 33 to 60 by December, the company's chief operating officer Parag Dutta said on Friday.

GFA, which is promoted by the Bangkok, Thailand-based Fred Mouawad Investment, will also be extending its Coffee World chain to 16 outlets in the country by December, including two in December, Mr Dutta said. Coffee World currently has three outlets, all of them in Bangalore, he said.

"Coffee World is a premium brand of GFA, in that it is positioned as a place where people can come and have coffee at a leisurely pace. All Coffee World outlets will be Wi-Fi-enabled, so customers cand use their laptops to browse the internet or check their mail," he said. Fred Mouawad, a Lebanese billionaire, had acquired a 95 per cent stake in Pizza Corner, which was founded in 1996 in partnership with Geneva-based Global Invesment Partners. Subsequently, ICICI Ventures also took a 33 per cent stake in Pizza Corner, Mr Dutta said GFA was in 26 expansion mode now because it had consolidated its catire operations last year after Mr Mouawad took majority stake in the company. The company was planning to launch its New York Deli chain in India soon, he said. "We are launching Pizza Corner restaurants in China as well. This will be the first time and Indian pizza company will be launching its brand in China," he said.
